QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh.41,420.00 -57,230.00 (CPSB 09)House Allowance: Ksh. 12,800.00 p.m Commuter Allowance: KSh.5,000.00 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and PensionableRequirements for appointment:-Direct appointment for Higher National Diploma HoldersHigher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery in any of the following disciplines: Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgery, Audiology and Hearing Care, Speech and Language Pathology, Ophthalmology (Cataract Surgery/Advanced Refraction and Low Vision), Emergency and Critical Care, Pediatric Emergency and Critical care, Nephrology, Oncology, Cardiology, Cardio-Pulmonary perfusion, Palliative and Hospice Care, Mental Health and Psychiatry, Clinical Services, Child Health and Pediatrics, Anesthesia, Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, Epidemiology, Chest Medicine, Chronic Disease Management, Reproductive Health, Medical Education, Dermatology and Venereology, Family Health, Sonography or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers' Council; andValid Professional Practice License from the Clinical Officers' Council.Promotion for Diploma HoldersServed for a period of three (3) years of which should have been in the grade of Registered Clinical Officer Il or in a comparable position in the Public or Private sector;Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Clinical Medicine and Community Health or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers' Council;Valid Professional Practice License from the Clinical Officers' Council; andShown merit and ability in work performance and results Duties and Responsibilities: -Take history, examine, diagnose, and order laboratory and imaging investigations;Interpret laboratory and imaging results;Treat patients' common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient health facility; Provide community health care services in liaison with other health workers;Guide and counsel patients, clients and staff on health issues; Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health;Carry out surgical procedures as per training and skill;Collect and compile clinical data;Provide clinical outreach and school health services;Organize health management teams and convening health management committee meetings;Prepare medico-legal briefs on clinical services; andRefer patients and clients to appropriate health facilities.
