QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh.58,360.00 - 90,200.00 (CPSB 06) House Allowance: Ksh. 25,500.00 pmCommuter Allowance: Ksh. 8,000.00 pmOther Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable Requirements for Appointment-:-A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management Or other equivalent qualification from a recognized university.Registration with a relevant professional body such as: Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS)Knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than five (5) years;Knowledge of public procurement and contract management.Proficiency in relevant engineering software and computer applications.Demonstrated professional competence and administrative ability in the field of public works and infrastructure.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, and supervise public works activities including design and maintenance of public buildings and infrastructure.Prepare and review designs, drawings, cost estimates, bills of quantities (BQs), and technical specifications for public works projects.Supervise contractors and consultants to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects.Prepare periodic technical and project progress reports.Monitor and evaluate ongoing public works projects and recommend improvements.Participate in the formulation of policies, standards, and guidelines related to construction and maintenance of county infrastructure.Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and engineering standards.Provide technical support during procurement and contract management processes.Supervise and mentor junior technical staff under the department.Liaise with other departments, agencies, and stakeholders on matters related to infrastructure development.
