Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 90,200.00 -124,630.00 (CPSB 05)
House Allowance: Ksh. 28,000.00 p.m
Commuter Allowance: KShs. 12,000.00 p.m.
Other Allowances as Per the SRC Circulars

Requirement for Appointment
For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -
Served in the grade of Principal Laboratory Technologist II Job Group 'N' in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;
Higher Diploma in any of the following disciplines: - Parasitology and Endomology, Clinical Chemistry, Medical Biochemistry, Haematology, Blood transfusion science, Virology, Bacteriology, Histopathology, Clinical Cytology, Immunology, Mycology and Epidemiology or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board:;
Registration certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB);
Valid Practicing license from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB);
Certificate in Management, Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from recognized institution;
Certificate in Computer applications skills from a recognized institution; and
Demonstrated capability
Duties and Responsibilities
Implementing laboratory policies, guidelines, strategies and programs;
Supervising the preparation of reagents, stains and examining specimens;
Verifying and approving results;
Planning, budgeting and carrying out operational research on vector borne diseases, communicable and non-communicable diseases;
Developing technical specifications for the procurement of medical laboratory reagents, apparatus and equipment;
Overseeing the maintenance of equipment and reagents for vector and insecticides application monitoring and evaluation;
Investigating disease outbreaks in liaison with other health care providers;
Supervising the archiving of specimens of medical importance for reference;
Mapping and surveying vector borne disease distribution;
Liaising with stakeholders in mapping and surveying of vector borne diseases, communicable and non-communicable diseases
Developing Standard Operating Procedures;
validating and calibrating equipment;
Developing annual operation plane and Laboratory strategic plans;
Preparing periodical reports.
