QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 124,630.00 - 172,350.00 (CPSB 03)House Allowance: Ksh. 35,000.00 p.m Commuter Allowance: KSh. 16,000.00 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and PensionableRequirements for Appointment-;Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline from a recognized institution.Registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) or an equivalent professional body.A Master's degree in Engineering, Transport Management, or Project Management will be an added advantage.Certificate in senior management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.Strong knowledge of fleet management, transport policies, and mechanical operations in the public sector.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee the planning and management of transport and mechanical services within the county.Formulate and implement policies and strategies for fleet management, transport safety, and mechanical services.Ensure the effective maintenance, repair, and operation of county vehicles and machinery.Develop and monitor departmental budgets and performance targets.Enforce compliance with transport regulations and mechanical safety standards.Provide technical advice on procurement of vehicles, plant, and mechanical equipment.Supervise, mentor, and appraise departmental staff.Establish preventive maintenance programs for efficient utilization of county assets.Liaise with national agencies and stakeholders on matters relating to transport and mechanical services.Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
