QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 124,630.00 - 172,350.00 (CPSB 03)House Allowance: Ksh. 35,000.00 p.m Commuter Allowance: KSh. 16,000.00 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and PensionableRequirement for AppointmentsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field from a recognized institution.Registered and licensed as an Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) in good standing.A master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is an added advantage.Certificate in senior management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.Comprehensive knowledge of engineering standards, construction laws, and public works policies in Kenya.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, and supervise implementation of county public works programs.Formulate and review policies, strategies, and guidelines for public works and infrastructure development.Provide technical advice to the County Executive on building works and construction projects.Oversee design, construction, and maintenance of county buildings and other public structures.Ensure compliance with national construction standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.Prepare and manage departmental budgets, work plans, and periodic reports.Supervise and mentor departmental staff for efficient service delivery.Oversee procurement and contract management for public works projects.Collaborate with national agencies and development partners to mobilize resources and support infrastructure projects.Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
