QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 124,630.00 - 172,350.00 (CPSB 03)House Allowance: Ksh. 35,000.00 p.m Commuter Allowance: KSh. 16,000.00 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable Requirements for Appointment-;-:Served in the grade of Deputy Director Livestock Production an equivalent position for at least three (3) years in job group ‘Q’.Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Livestock Production, Range Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.Have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience, five (5) of which should be at a senior management level.Membership to a relevant professional body Demonstrate knowledge and experience in policy formulation, livestock extension systems, and value chain development.Have strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.Duties and Responsibilities -:Lead the development and implementation of livestock production strategies and policies.Coordinate planning and execution of livestock development programs and projects.Oversee livestock extension services and farmer advisory systems.Promote commercialization, value addition, and market access in the livestock sector.Supervise the development of livestock infrastructure (e.g., holding grounds, slaughterhouses).Coordinate partnerships with development agencies, research institutions, and the private sector.Monitor and evaluate livestock production initiatives and prepare progress reports.Mobilize resources and support investment in livestock value chains.Ensure compliance with veterinary and livestock production standards and regulations.Represent the county in national livestock and animal production forums.Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
