QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh.102,860.00 137,070.00 (CPSB 04) House Allowance: Ksh. 28,000.00 p.m Commuter Allowance: KSh. 14,000.00 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable Requirements for Appointment-;-:Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Livestock Production, Range Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.Have at least seven (7) years of relevant experience, three (3) of which should be at a senior management level.Membership to a relevant professional body Demonstrate knowledge and experience in policy formulation, livestock extension systems, and value chain development.Have strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.Duties and Responsibilities -:Assist in formulation and implementation of livestock production policies, strategies, and programs.Supervise county-wide livestock production projects and extension services.Coordinate development of livestock value chains, commercialization, and farmer support programs.Monitor and evaluate implementation of livestock programs and initiatives.Promote adoption of climate-smart livestock production technologies.Collaborate with stakeholders including NGOs, research institutions, and private sector partners.Prepare technical reports, sector reviews, and contribute to planning and budgeting processes.Provide guidance on livestock investment, agribusiness, and food security efforts.Deputize the Director in all departmental functions and represent the department in relevant forums.Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
