QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 92,030.00 -133,410.00 (CPSB 05)
House Allowance: Ksh. 28,000.00 p.m
Commuter Allowance: KSh. 12,000.00 p.m.

Requirements for Appointment-:
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution in Kenya.
A Master's Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
Served in the grade of Senior Superintendent Engineer (Mechanical) Job Group ‘N’ or a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for at least three (3) years or in a comparable position in the private sector;
Knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than six (6) years and has at least three (3) years’ experience at management level; and
Been registered by the Engineer’s Registration Board of Kenya
Current valid annual practicing license from the Engineers registration board of Kenya
Corporate membership with the institution of engineer of Kenya (IEK);
Strategic leadership development course or related course lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
Demonstrated general administrative ability required for effective planning, direction, control and coordination of mechanical engineering programmes.
Requirements for Appointment-:
Consultancy services;
Ensure Equipment utilization and maintenance;
Planning and development;
Check and advise on standards for vehicles, plant and equipment;
Co-ordinate and disposal of vehicles, plant, equipment and other mechanical stores;
Standardize of procurement procedures as per the procurement Act;
Coordinate departments technical consultancy services with other public and private sectors;
Oversee staff welfare and discipline;
Control, direction and supervision of Equipment Maintenance activities in the County and the workshops;
Co-ordinate and supervision of the preparation expenditure forecasts on maintenance activities;
Monitor expenditure in the County against the department’s votes;
Coordinate and prepare equipment maintenance progress reports.
