Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 90,200.00 124,630.00 (CPSB 04)
House Allowance: Ksh.28, 000
Commuter Allowance: Ksh.12, 000 p.m.

Requirements for Appointment-;-:
Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) Degree from a recognized institution;
Master of Science Degree in any of the following disciplines:- Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Surgery, Livestock Economics, Forensic Science, Animal Nutrition and Feed Sciences, Animal Genetics and Breeding, Clinical Studies, Veterinary Public Health, Livestock Production Systems, Poultry Science, Veterinary Anatomy, Reproductive Biology, Veterinary Pathology and Microbiology, Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Diagnosis, Fish Science, Apiary Science, Master of Public Health, Applied Veterinary Parasitology, Applied Microbiology, Comparative Mammalian Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Wildlife Health and Management, Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics, Animal Production or Aquatic Sciences from a recognized institution;
Have at least seven (7) years of relevant experience, three (3) of which should be at a senior management level in fisheries or aquaculture.
Registered by Kenya Veterinary Board:
Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4)weeks from a recognized institution;
Have shown outstanding administrative capability and professional competence required in managing Veterinarv Services.
Duties and Responsibilities -:
Participate in carrying out economic impact assessments on animal diseases
Undertake forensic investigations and compile appropriate reports
Offer veterinary services at ports of entry
Undertake disease control activities including disease search, mapping, vaccination, and enforcement of livestock movement regulations
Train stakeholders on vector control programmes, animal health, breeding, welfare, and good veterinary practices
Treat sick animals and administer veterinary interventions
Analyse data and prepare reports on animal health, animal products, and markets
Undertake postmortem examinations and other diagnostic tests
Interpret laboratory results and make appropriate recommendations
Inspect, grade, and license plants processing animal products and transport carriers/containers
Examine animals and issue animal health certificates
Participate in field efficacy trials for veterinary drugs, vaccines, and acaricides
Disseminate data and information on animal health, products, and markets
Collaborate with stakeholders in the provision of veterinary services
Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
