QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 90,200.00 - 124,630.00 (CPSB 05)House Allowance: Ksh. 28,000.00 p.m Commuter Allowance: KSh. 12,000.00 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and PensionableRequirements for Appointment-; Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB);Valid practising license from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;Certificate in Senior Management Course, lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; Certificate in computer application skills from a recognised institution; andDemonstrated a high degree of professional competence and administrative capability.Duties and responsibilities implementing laboratory policies, guidelines, strategies and programs; supervising the preparation of reagents, stains and examining specimens; verifying and approving laboratory findings and results; providing specifications for the procurement of medical laboratory reagents, apparatus and equipment; Overseeing the maintenance of equipment for clinical testing, vector and insecticides application monitoring and evaluation; investigating disease outbreaks in liaison with other health care providers;supervising the archiving of specimens of medical importance for reference;Liaising with stakeholders in mapping and surveying of vector borne diseases, communicable and non-communicable diseases; undertaking medical laboratory collaborative research; and preparing periodical reports.Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
