QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh.92,030.00 -133,410.00 (CPSB 05)House Allowance: Ksh. 28,000.00 p.m Commuter Allowance: KSh. 12,000.00 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable Requirements for Appointment-:Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;Master of Science degree in any of the following disciplines: Medical Parasitology, Medical Parasitology and Entomology, Medical Entomology, Clinical Chemistry, Medical Biochemistry, Haematology,Blood Transfusion Science, Medical Microbiology, Medical Bacteriology, Virology, Mycology, Clinical Cytology, Histopathology, Immunology, Epidemiology, Public Health (Epidemiology), Infectious Disease Diagnosis, Laboratory Management, Molecular Science, or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;Served in the grade of Principal Medical Laboratory Officer for a minimum period of three (3) years;Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB);Valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;Certificate in Senior Management Course, lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and administrative capability.Duties and Responsibilities -: Implemente laboratory policies, guidelines, strategies, and programs;Supervise the preparation of reagents, stains, and examining specimens;Verify and approving laboratory findings and results;Provide specifications for the procurement of medical laboratory reagents, apparatus, and equipment;Oversee the maintenance of equipment for clinical testing, vector and insecticides application monitoring and evaluation;Investigate disease outbreaks in liaison with other healthcare providers;Supervise the archiving of specimens of medical importance for reference;Liaise with stakeholders in mapping and surveying of vector-borne diseases, communicable and non-communicable diseases;Undertake medical laboratory collaborative research;Prepare periodical reports.
