QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 90,200.00 124,630.00 (CPSB 04)House Allowance: Ksh.28, 000Commuter Allowance: Ksh.12, 000 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable Requirements for Appointment-;-:Served in the grade of Principal Livestock Production an equivalent position for at least three (3) years in job group ‘N’.Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Livestock Production, Range Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.Have at least six (6) years of relevant experience, three (3) of which should be at a senior management level.Membership to a relevant professional body Demonstrate knowledge and experience in policy formulation, livestock extension systems, and value chain development.Have strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.Duties and Responsibilities -:Assist in the development and implementation of livestock production strategies, policies, and programs.Coordinate extension services to farmers and livestock producers across sub-counties.Oversee the implementation of livestock-related projects and value chain initiatives.Support the promotion of climate-smart livestock production and animal nutrition practices.Monitor and evaluate livestock development programs and prepare periodic reports.Provide technical backstopping to livestock officers and field staff.Support resource mobilization and collaboration with development partners and stakeholders.Promote commercialization of livestock enterprises and linkages to markets.Supervise and mentor officers under the Livestock Production section.Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
