QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 90,200.00 124,630.00 (CPSB 04)
House Allowance: Ksh.28, 000
Commuter Allowance: Ksh.12, 000 p.m.
Other Allowances as Per the SRC Circulars
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration / Management; Community Development, or any other social science from a recognized institution;
Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage;
Knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than six (6) years and has at least three (3) years’ experience at management level; and
Demonstrate managerial, administrative and professional competence in work performance;

Duties and Responsibilities-:
Advise cooperatives on proper financial management and governance
Coordinate training programs for cooperative officers and members
Oversee implementation of cooperative policies and regulations
Guide new cooperative formations and ensures their registration processes comply with legal frameworks
Monitor cooperative societies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
Conduct inspections and audits of cooperative societies
Resolve disputes within cooperative organizations through mediation and advisory support
Liaise with other government departments and stakeholders on matters of cooperative development
Collect and analyze data to inform cooperative development strategies
Prepare report on cooperative performance and submits them to senior management
Promote cooperative marketing and value addition initiatives
Evaluate loan applications from cooperative societies and advises on creditworthiness
Provide technical support for digitization and modernization of cooperative systems
Participate in policy formulation and development of cooperative development frameworks
Represent the department in county and national cooperative forums
Supervise and mentors junior staff in the cooperative development unit
Ensure implementation of work plans and targets related to cooperative growth
Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set target
