QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh.92,030.00 -133,410.00 (CPSB 05)House Allowance: Ksh. 28,000.00 p.m Commuter Allowance: KSh. 12,000.00 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable Requirements for Appointment-:A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields in Agricultural Engineering such as soil and water, mechanization/farm power and structures;Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage;Knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than six (6) years and has at least three (3) years’ experience at management level; andDemonstrated a high degree of professional and technical competence as reflected in Work performance and results;Duties and Responsibilities -:Coordinate and supervise all the administrative and professional activities in the station. Plan, prepare of various projects and programmes including mechanization, agro-processing or major structures in soil and water engineering;Design and execute the training program for the technical staff.Prepare annual budgets and work plans for the department and establish proper internal monitoring and control systems.Manage the planning, design, and construction of agricultural projects, including irrigation systems, farm buildings, and other infrastructure.Identify and address technical issues that arise during project execution.Oversee the selection, purchase, maintenance, and repair of agricultural machineryConducting feasibility studies and investigation on agricultural engineering works; carrying out data analysis for design of agricultural engineering works; Carrying out detailed design and preparation of bill of quantities of agricultural engineering works; Carrying out specialized repair and maintenance of agricultural engineering works; verifying and validating agricultural engineering designs in accordance with set standards; Implementing agricultural engineering design works; Training stakeholders in agricultural engineering technologies; Conducting trainings, on-far on-farm trials and demonstrations; and Preparing technical reports.
