Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 90,200.00 - 124,630.00 (CPSB 05)
House Allowance: Ksh. 28,000.00 p.m
Commuter Allowance: KSh. 12,000.00 p.m.
Other Allowances as Per the SRC Circulars
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Requirements for Appointment:
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Agriculture Economic,Agriculture Extension, Agriculture EducationHorticulture, Crop Science, or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; any other relevant field from a recognized institution.
Master’s degree in Agriculture or a related field from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
At least six (6) years of relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been at a senior management or supervisory level in the agricultural sector.
A Certificate in Senior Management or Leadership course of at least four (4) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
Membership of a relevant professional body
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in agricultural policy development, extension services, and project management.
Proficiency in ICT applications relevant to agricultural management and data analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement agricultural policies, strategies, and programs in line with national and county development goals.
Coordinate planning, implementation, and evaluation of agricultural projects and extension services within the county.
Provide technical guidance and supervision to agricultural staff to ensure effective service delivery.
Oversee the promotion of modern agricultural practices, including climate-smart agriculture, irrigation, mechanization, and value addition.
Monitor and analyze agricultural production trends and market dynamics to inform policy decisions
Collaborate with research institutions, development partners, and stakeholders to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability.
Manage and coordinate the implementation of programs for food security, soil and water conservation, and pest and disease control.
Prepare departmental work plans, budgets, and reports in compliance with government policies and standards.
Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations, standards, and quality assurance guidelines.
Develop and implement capacity-building programs for farmers, cooperatives, and extension workers.
Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting for agricultural performance monitoring.
Promote agribusiness and value chain development initiatives to improve farmers’ income and market access.
