QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 39,700.00 - 52,960.00(CPSB 09)House Allowance: Ksh. 12,800 p.mCommuter Allowance: Ksh. 5,000 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent & PensionableRequirements For appointment:Bachelor's degree in Building Economics, Quantity Surveying, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institutionMust be registered as a Graduate Member of either the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) or the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSKDuties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare cost estimates for construction and maintenance projectsPrepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for tendering and procurement purposesConduct monthly valuations of work done on site for interim payment certificatesCarry out site remeasurements to verify quantities of completed workPrepare and process variation orders arising from scope or design changesAssist in tender evaluation and contract documentationMonitor project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgetsPrepare cost reports and advise on cost control strategiesParticipate in site meetings and provide technical input on cost mattersVerify contractor claims and recommend payment based on work progressAssist in the preparation of final accounts at project completion.Maintain updated records of project financials and correspondenceSupport procurement planning by providing accurate quantity and cost dataLiaise with project consultants, contractors, and suppliers on cost-related issuesAssist in preparation and review of contract documents and specificationsEnsure compliance with relevant procurement laws, building codes, and regulationsMonitor material usage and wastage on site to enhance cost efficiencyProvide input into value engineering exercises to optimize project costPrepare periodic progress and financial reports for management review.Assist in risk analysis and preparation of mitigation cost plansPlan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets
