QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh.92,030.00 - 133,410.00 (CPSB 05)House Allowance: Ksh. 28,000.00 p.mCommuter Allowance: KSh. 12,000.00 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Three (3) Years Contract (Renewable)Requirements for Appointment: -A Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication Studies, Media Studies/Science, Photojournalism from a recognized institution;ORA Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication Studies, Media Studies/Science, Photojournalism from a recognized institution;A Master's degree in a field relevant is an added advantageKnowledge and relevant work experience of not less than six (6) years and has at least three (3) years’ experience at management level; andDemonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.Duties and Responsibilities: -Interpret and implement public communication policies; strategies and programmes;Develop standards and regulations in the management of public communications functions;Manage public communications activities /events branding and promoting positive image of the County;Initiate research on various public communication issues and develop appropriate interventions and response;Produce and communicate publications on the County programs, activities and investment opportunities;Edit and proofread government related publications and other pre-press materials to ensure quality;Provides professional leadership in the management of relations between the county, the public, the media and other stakeholders;Monitor and analyze media content;Carry out research on public opinion on specific sectoral area and providing appropriate strategies;Manage production of IEC materials and events management;Participate in the development of departmental /individual work plans;Prepare and monitor implementation of the department’s budget;Coordinate training and development of staff and management of resources within the department.Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
