QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 90,200.00 - 124,630.00 (CPSB 05)House Allowance: Ksh. 28,000.00 p.m Commuter Allowance: KSh. 12,000.00 p.m.Other Allowances as Per the SRC CircularsTerms of Service: Permanent and PensionableQualifications & Requirements:A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field (A master's degree in a relevant field is an added advantage .A minimum of [insert number] years of progressive experience in urban planning or development control, with at least 6 years with 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.In-depth knowledge of urban planning regulations, policies, and development control processes.Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.Proficiency in planning software and tools (e.g., GIS, CAD).A relevant professional certification or membership (e.g., AICP, RICS) is a plus.Duties and Responsibilities:-Provide leadership in the development and implementation of forward planning strategies.Oversee and coordinate development control processes to ensure alignment with planning policies.Review and evaluate development proposals, ensuring they adhere to legal and regulatory frameworks.Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of planners and development control officers.Liaise with stakeholders, including government agencies, developers, and the public, to ensure transparent and efficient planning processes.Monitor and assess ongoing projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with planning guidelines.Prepare reports and policy briefs for senior management and relevant authorities.Contribute to the formulation of long-term urban planning objectives and development strategies.
