QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 121,430 – 169,140 p.m. (CPSB 03)
House Allowance: Ksh. 35, 000
Commuter Allowance: Ksh.16, 000 p.m.
Leave Allowances (annual): Ksh. 10,000
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Reports to: Chief Officer Agriculture and Agribusiness

Requirements for appointment

i) Bachelor’s degree in any of the following discipline; Agriculture, Agricultural
Economics, Agribusiness, Agriculture extension and education or any other equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution.
ii) Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Agriculture, Agricultural Economics,
Agribusiness, Agriculture extension and education or any other equivalent qualification
from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
iii) Knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than Seven (7) years, three (3) of
which must have been at Senior Management level in the Public Service or Private
Sector.
iv) Management and leadership course of not less than four weeks from a recognized
institution will be an added advantage.
v) Be conversant with policy formulation and implementation process.
vi) Successful applicant to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on
Leadership and Integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities

i) Overall coordination of the activities of the Agricultural Training Centre (ATC).
ii) Organize and manage ATC resources.
iii) Interpret and implement policies in line with ATC mandate;
iv) Responsible to the Board of Management (BOM) on all matters relating to the ATC.
v) Provide Secretarial duties to the BOM.
vi) Coordinate development of information products and distribution mechanisms.
vii) Formulate and implement the performance contracts.
viii) Facilitate Staff training and development.
ix) Represent ATC in various stakeholder meetings and committees.
x) Coordinate preparation of work plans and budgets; and Periodic Reports.
xi) Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
